Review : Misses the mark
For the last four or five years I have been using a (now discontinued) Canon Pixma iP4300 for full colour glossy A4 prints and printing directly onto discs. I arrived at the iP4300 after going through three awful Epsom printers within six months. It's been the best piece of kit I've ever owned. Reliable, cheap to run, superb results and proof that Canon are capable of manufacturing a little gem. Lately, after heavy use over the years it has sadly started to wear out and develop problems so I had to change it. I researched various other Canon models and settled on the iP4950 which I've been using for a week. What a disappointment.
I've deducted three stars from my rating for three very good reasons. Firstly, the ink tanks are half the capacity of the ones in the iP4300 (my benchmark printer to be clear), so, twice as much replacing and considerably more expense. Printer ink is the second most expensive liquid on the planet (after rattlesnake venom!) so to be forced...
