A lessson for noobs such as myself.

When choosing higher clock speed memory, check the PC/Motherboard manufactures Qualified Vendors List (QVL) very carefully.

The part numbers for different memory modules are very similar to one another, so when I found these modules which were only one letter different (and had the same timing numbers) to ones in the QVL for my motherboard, I bought them. Even at 1333 Mhz they failed every memory test.

Whether they were faulty modules or just incompatible with my motherboard I do not know, as I swapped for some G-Skill modules, that have worked perfectly.

I have rated based on my experience, others may of course have no problem with these modules, I suspect it is all down to compatibility between components from different manufacturers.
