I ordered the Crucial DDR3 RAM to upgrade the memory in my computer at work. It was running with a 2GB stick already and a spare slot beside it.

RAM comes in DDR1, DDR2 or DDR3 modules, if you are unsure what RAM type you need you can download the System Scanner from Crucial which will recommend the correct upgrade for you. ([...]). Don't worry if you buy the wrong type, it won't fit so there's no worry of damaging your computer. Amazon's return policy is such that it's really easy to do a swap.

The Amazon packaging is small enough to fit through your postbox so no trips to the Post Office if you're not in. Inside is the clear plastic Crucial packaging containing the RAM stick. Nice and minimal.

To install the RAM use a screwdriver to remove the side panel from your computer tower, once open look inside and locate a memory stick the same as your new one. There should be a slot to the side of it waiting for your new stick. Simply remove the RAM from the...
