first choice from Amazon was GB-970A-DS3 motherboard which is similar spec to this the GB-970A-D3 (note the S). I am running a new X4 965 PhenomII and Corsair 8GBx2=16GB all from Amazon. The first DS3 board was dead but had a feeling it was something to do with the board only having 4 pin ATX power connector for CPU instead of the 8 pin on my original Gigabyte DDR2 board which was 7 years old. When the 4 pin ATX was unplugged the CPU fan and system fans sparked into life but as soon as the plug was reinserted the board went dead "very strange" so returned the DS3 back to Amazon, they sent me another DS3 and once again this had the same problem simply dead no boot up just a slight sign of life with half a turn of cpu fan when turned on. So once again returned to Amazon for refund this time. Did some homework online and found others have had similar problems with DS3 so decided to give Gigabyte a final try but this time purchase the D3 which happens to have the 8 pin ATX socket for...
