Review : Great drive, average enclosure
After filling up a 2TB drive, I needed something bigger and went for the Hitachi as they have a very good reputation for reliability. Various reviews cite the higher rated MTBF for the Hitachi drive but in particular a blog post from a company who use thousands of consumer hard drives posted some figures comparing Western Digital, Seagate and Hitachi where they'd found the Hitachis had been noticeably more reliable so hopefully that will turn out to be the case (will still be keeping backups of course).

The difference between the Touro Pro and the Touro DX3 4TB drives is the speed of the drives, the pro is 7200rpm and the the DX3 should be 5400rpm. The enclosure itself is relatively basic comprised of plastic all round with no fan, there's a single blue light on the front for activity, a kensington lock slot, USB plug and power in. As this is a desktop drive it requires a power supply as it draws too much power for USB. Performance over USB3 seems very good for a hard...
