Recently bought this cpu with an X79 board from Amazon (they were here in 2 days so I would like to give Amazon 5 Stars for their Customer Department) and I am massively impressed. It overclocks to 5250 Mhz stable at 1.48 Volts and much lower volts for 5Ghz. From what i have read and seen so far, any of these chips can easily overclock to 4625-4750Mhz (over 1 Ghz compared to its stock speed)around 1.35~1.38 Volts. With its 8 logical cores, it can easily handle massive jobs. If you are using massive memory and graphics intense programs, it can handle anything you throw at it. In short; I am hugely impressed by the capacity and power of this chip. I also highly recommend using proper Custom Liquid Cooling setup if you are aimimg for high overclocks. Closed loop water cooling systems cant handle the heat as Volts start going over 1.425. And with the best of the best air cooling (Noctua NHD14 etc)I dont think you will be able to go past 4.5 Ghz. Just an early warning if you are thinking...
