My build consists of an i7 860 processor, with the right motherboard, this processor handles anything you throw at it.
If your into overclocking, I have my i7 860 overclocked at 4ghz with an aftermarket air cooler, my average temps are 40 degrees.

The 860 uses less power than any of the other i7 processors.

I would recommend this over any i7 quadcore processor.
