My computer died suddenly - dead component on the motherboard - and whilst I normally spend hours searching for the individual parts this time I didn't have time so I took a punt on this. Rather glad I did to be honest. It arrived quickly via the Amazon 3rd party reseller and was as stated already made up ready to go. I simple fitted it into place in my full size ATX server case - which admittedly now looks a little empty - connected up the hard drives and power and then pressed start.

Now this is where I expected it to go a bit pear shaped because the C drive had been recently upgraded with Windows 8 via the Microsoft download service and as I had changed a major set of components I fully expected to have to mess around buying another W8. Fortunately not it would seem. The computer booted up without a hitch into Windows with a small reminder to register again.
