Review : Seagate Momentus XT and 2010 15" Macbook Pro
Hello. I'm writing this review on the assumption that you have done some research on the Momentus XT drive and know a bit about how it works.
After upgrading my 2010 15" Macbook Pro to Lion I was experiencing long boot times (compared to Snow Leopard previously) and without the funds to purchase a new Macbook Pro any time soon I was looking for something to speed up the general performance of my machine to prolong its life. My wife had recently bought a Macbook Air which put my Core i5 Macbook Pro to shame mainly because of the flash drive compared to my stock Hitachi 320gb 5400rpm drive. My choices were a full blown SSD which brings with it limited capacity (I already had an external 1TB firewire 800 drive that I was off loading a lot of files to) at a high cost per GB or the Seagate Momentus XT. After reading issues with the 1st gen XT and Macs (although I believe this was fixed in later firmwares SD26+) I started looking at the second gen XT 750gb ST750LX003 which...
