Review : Fast drive with classic styling
Fortunately Seagate have stuck with a simple design for this USB 3.0 drive. I recently reviewed another Seagate external drive which was about 50% bigger with the cable connector coming out the side and this has proven to be quite annoying as time has gone on. The Back-Up Plus is a classic little black number. It's typically quick, around 2.5-3 times faster than a USB 2.0 drive on a suitable USB 3.0 bus. It almost goes without saying that it's quiet and doesn't heat up - this rarely seems to be a problem these days.

I've been using it for syncing folders, although I don't use the included software. Now, the software that comes with the drive is perfectly adequate and it has a neat feature to allow backing up from your social media sites - something I don't trouble myself with but I believe they're quite popular. This allows you to keep off-line back-ups of photos you've uploaded to your site of choice. Personally I prefer not to keep proprietary software installed if I can...
