Looks good and has all the functionality you might reasonably want - just doesn't work!

Original delivery arrived fine - not a problem. Plugged the WD My Book Studio into my iMac and worked first time. Initial back-up took overnight (8 hrs +) but worked fine. Disconnected, reconnected a few days later and no power. The unit was completely dead - (& yes, unit had been protected from power surges!)

Returned to Amazon and a replacement arrived. This second machine wouldn't even power up - complete waste of time.

Have switched to an alternative brand now (G-Tech) which works fine. Am not sure if there is a design issue here or it's just a case of bad luck but my faith in WD has gone.

To receive one faulty machine may be regarded as a misfortune; for both to prove faulty was unacceptable.
