Something you need to be aware of when purchasing extra memory is that a 32 bit operating system can only use up to 4gb of memory. If you want to use more you must have the 64 bit version of windows installed.
I wasn't aware of this when I brought the extra memory, but having recently installed windows 7 and recalling that it prompted me to select 32 or 64 bit at the start of the installation I guessed I would just have to install it again to use the 64 bit version. Unfortunately it didn't ask the second (or third) time I tried to re-install it and defaulted to the 32 bit system. Having wasted about a day and a half (instaling windows is fairly quick, installing the updates and drivers takes forever) I have reluctantly had to return the memory.
On a positive note, installing the cards was very easy and if you look on You Tube there are plenty of videos showing how to access the inside of your computer and how to swap the memory over so even the most technophobic person...
